Salim Swaleh, Director of Press at Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s office, has been arrested on suspicion of facilitating fraudulent activities targeting foreigners. Alongside him, several other government officials from the same office were also detained after authorities uncovered their involvement in enabling illegal dealings. Peter Warutere, Secretary of Strategic Communication at the office, confirmed the arrests, stating that the officials had allowed their offices to be utilized by fraudsters who operated under false identities.
The arrests highlight growing concerns over corruption and misconduct within government ranks, particularly regarding the misuse of official positions for unlawful activities. The case underscores the need for stringent measures to ensure accountability and transparency across all levels of public service, aiming to uphold integrity and protect the public trust in governmental institutions.
