Saudia Group, the umbrella organization for Saudia and Flyadeal, has achieved remarkable success in on-time performance (OTP), with both airlines ranked at the top in their respective categories, according to Cirium’s November 2024 global rankings.
Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has claimed the top spot globally, with an impressive OTP of 89.85%. This marks Saudia’s third consecutive victory in this category, following strong performances in June and July. The airline, which operated more than 16,300 flights in November, has demonstrated its operational efficiency and dedication to maintaining punctuality. Saudia’s success underscores the company’s commitment to integrating streamlined processes and ensuring reliable service, which enhances passenger confidence and satisfaction.
Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, emphasized the significance of these achievements: “These outstanding results underscore the strategic importance of safe and timely operations, which significantly enhance customer confidence across our entire group. Saudia and Flyadeal’s commitment to operational excellence is a testament to the collective efforts of our dedicated front-line staff and the invaluable support from all Saudia Group business units.”
Flyadeal, Saudia Group’s low-cost carrier, also achieved remarkable results in the OTP rankings, securing second place in the global low-cost airline category with a rate of 90.48%. This follows their number one ranking in September 2024, highlighting Flyadeal’s consistency in delivering on-time service. Flyadeal operates a fleet of 36 Airbus A320 aircraft from Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, and is now planning to expand its network further as part of its international expansion strategy.
Jeremy Bowen, CEO of Cirium, praised the performance of both airlines: “It’s fantastic to see Saudia take the top spot as the most on-time global airline in November, paired with sister carrier Flyadeal which secured an impressive second place in the LCC category. These achievements really demonstrate the exceptional operational success of the Saudia Group. Their ongoing dedication to excellence and ability to deliver outstanding results month after month is truly commendable.”
Looking ahead, Saudia Group is aiming to further strengthen its operations with an ambitious plan to expand its fleet by adding at least 130 new aircraft in the coming years. This expansion will enable Saudia to double its seating capacity, explore new global destinations, and contribute to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to transform the Kingdom into a global tourism and travel hub. Saudia’s current fleet consists of 144 aircraft, connecting Saudi Arabia to over 100 destinations worldwide.
These impressive OTP achievements are a testament to Saudia Group’s commitment to operational excellence and its role in shaping the future of air travel.
