The sentencing of six individuals convicted for the 2013 murder of former Juja MP George Thuo has been postponed to next week. The Milimani High Court, under Justice Roslyn Korir, had earlier found the six guilty of poisoning Thuo at Porkies Club in Thika.
Justice Korir confirmed that medical reports established Thuo’s cause of death as haemorrhagic gastroenteritis due to Cyhalothrine pesticide poisoning, which leads to death within five to ten minutes of ingestion. The convicts include Club owner Paul Wainaina Boiyo alias Sheki, Thuo’s aide Christopher Lumbazio Andika alias Lumba, DJs Andrew Karanja Wainaina and Samuel Kuria Ngugi alias Visi, waiter Esther Ndinda Mulinge, and patron Ruth Watahi Irungu alias Atlanta.
Justice Korir emphasized that the prosecution presented sufficient evidence, beyond mere suspicion, proving the guilt of the six individuals. The court will reconvene next week to determine their sentences.
