On the evening of Saturday, April 26, the Secretary General of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Hassan Omar Hassan, was the Chief Guest at the 3K FC annual dinner held at Winter Villa Resort in Embu County. His presence underscored the importance of nurturing football from the grassroots level, a vital aspect of growing the sport in Kenya.
The event was hosted by Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire, who also serves as the Chairperson of UDA and is recognized as the number one supporter of 3K FC. The gathering brought together notable figures from both political and sports leadership, united by a common goal the advancement of football in Embu and the country at large.
3K FC proudly holds the distinction of being the first football club from Embu County to compete in the prestigious National League. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the region’s sporting history and represents a beacon of inspiration for young talents aspiring to reach the national stage.
In his address, the Secretary General highlighted the critical need for football clubs to have strategic plans guiding their long-term visions. He praised 3K FC for being a shining example of a club that not only dreams big but also plans meticulously for sustainable success. Hassan emphasized that the development and implementation of strategic tools are essential for informed decision-making, efficient resource mobilization, and ultimately, the realization of a club’s targeted goals.
He further stressed that discipline remains a non-negotiable pillar for any successful football team. “The culture of discipline serves as the panacea for a successful team in the field of football,” he remarked, reinforcing the importance of strong values both on and off the pitch.
Beyond the local level, the Secretary General acknowledged the significant role played by national leadership in sports development. He lauded President William Ruto and Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki for their unwavering commitment to nurturing Kenya’s sports industry. Their leadership, he noted, has created a more conducive environment for sports, particularly football, to grow and compete at both national and international levels.

Among them were Hussein Mohammed, the President of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), and several UDA Directors, including Rob Jillo (Communication), Halake Halake (Minorities & Marginalized Groups), Grace Gichovi (Events & Logistics), Sabastian Mwangangi (Special Advisor to the Secretary General), and Truphena Mbogo (Manager, Diaspora Affairs).
