Stakeholders in the agribusiness sector convened under the banner of the Inclusive Agribusiness Club at the Kenya National Farmers’ Federation (KENAFF) headquarters in Thogoto, Kiambu County, to strategize on strengthening the sector through inclusivity and sustainability. This gathering marked a significant step in ongoing efforts by the club, launched jointly last year by KENAFF and 2SCALE, a project supported by Bopinc, IFDC, SNV, and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event served as a platform for diverse actors from the private, civil society, and public sectors involved in farmer development to address the current fragmented nature of initiatives. Dr. Mwendah M’Mailutha, CEO of KENAFF, emphasized the need for greater cohesion among these stakeholders to maximize their impact on agricultural development. Discussions focused on aligning strategies and fostering collaboration to ensure that efforts are complementary and synergistic, ultimately enhancing the resilience and prosperity of farmers across Kenya.
The Inclusive Agribusiness Club continues to play a pivotal role in fostering dialogue and partnership within the agribusiness community, aiming to create a more integrated and sustainable agricultural sector that can effectively address the challenges and opportunities of modern farming practices in Kenya.
