Kenyan musician Stevo Simple Boy recently shared a deeply personal experience about his painful past relationships, including being cheated on multiple times. In a candid interview with content creator President Law on January 13, 2024, Stevo revealed that he had been betrayed by a woman a shocking ten times, an ordeal that led him to swear off dating until 2026.
Describing the relationship as his worst experience, Stevo explained that the repeated betrayals left him heartbroken. “Yes, a woman has cheated on me. I’ve been cheated on ten times. Ee, niligongewa mara kumi. I’ve sworn off relationships until 2026,” he confessed, emphasizing the deep pain that dishonesty in relationships caused him. According to Stevo, infidelity is a dealbreaker for him, and he finds it difficult to tolerate betrayal from someone he loves. “These days, faithful women are hard to find. Let me stay single,” he said, showing his frustration with the current dating scene and his decision to focus on himself.
When asked about his qualities in a partner, Stevo placed loyalty at the top of his list. He clarified that he does not have a specific type but jokingly mentioned that even disclosing such preferences has not worked out for him in the past. “Siwezi sema type yangu ya mwanamke juu hata nikisema hawatakuja. Kama mtu hasemi nasepa,” Stevo said. For him, loyalty is demonstrated in simple actions, like cooking and washing, actions that can build trust in a relationship. The lighthearted comment about the little things that signify loyalty drew laughter from his interviewer.
Stevo also recounted a particularly painful episode in his love life, where his girlfriend pretended to be single while she was already in a relationship. This betrayal, which he referred to as the most disappointing moment of his love life, left him disillusioned with dating. In another interview with YouTuber Trudy Kitui, Stevo revealed even more heartbreaking details. He shared that his ex-girlfriend, Grace Atieno, had a child with another man while they were still together, a fact he discovered just before the child was born. “Tulikuwa sawa hapo mbele. We were living together. Then, someone called me and told me the baby isn’t mine. Mtoto si wangu,” he said.
Despite the painful experiences, Stevo remains hopeful for the future and is determined to focus on his music career. He recently expressed interest in collaborating with First Daughter Charlene Ruto, showing that he is looking forward to exciting professional opportunities in the coming years. For now, though, Stevo is committed to staying single until 2026, prioritizing his personal growth and happiness above all else.
