Renowned on-air personality Tallia Oyando has wrapped up her eight-year journey hosting Citizen TV’s One Love show, leaving behind an indelible mark on the station’s audience. The emotional farewell on Saturday was a culmination of years of dedication to music, culture, and connecting with her loyal fans. A fixture in the media industry since she was just 13 years old, Tallia, affectionately known as the Night Nurse, shared heartfelt thanks to her fans, colleagues, and the Citizen TV family.
In her farewell address, a visibly emotional Tallia expressed her deep gratitude. “Thank you, I have felt so much love this week that has just fueled me. I’m still an emotional wreck so for now, I love you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the depths of my soul,” she said, reflecting on the significant journey that began at a young age and spanned nearly a decade. She also acknowledged the support she received over the years, which allowed her to continue shining in the limelight.
As Tallia transitions into a new phase of her career, she shared an emotional message on Instagram, thanking her audience for the love and support they had shown her. “After eight beautiful years of love, music, and family on One Love at Citizen TV, it’s time for a new chapter,” she wrote. The message also expressed her excitement for what’s to come.
NTV is the next stop in Tallia’s career, with sources revealing that she will host a reggae show on the station soon after her departure from Citizen TV. This news follows a broader trend of NTV poaching prominent media personalities. Among the new faces joining the station are former NRG Radio’s Natalie Githinji and Laura Mbatha from KTN and Sound City radio. The two will be hosting a music-focused evening show. Additionally, seasoned journalists Janet Mbugua and Eric Latiff are set to anchor a political show on NTV, further solidifying the station’s commitment to delivering diverse and compelling content.
In a statement, NTV’s Head of Broadcast, Simaloi Dajom, praised Janet Mbugua’s versatility and experience. “Janet is highly skilled in engaging audiences on TV, Radio, and Digital media. She has worked as a prime-time news anchor, show host, and content producer for major outlets in Kenya and South Africa,” said Dajom.
Tallia’s exit from Citizen TV marks the end of an era but also signals exciting new beginnings, both for her and for the Kenyan media scene, as viewers look forward to fresh and dynamic content from their favorite presenters.
