Taylor Swift in Talks for Collaboration with Nelly Furtado

Pop sensation Taylor Swift is being courted for a collaboration by none other than Nelly Furtado. The “I’m Like a Bird” singer has reportedly written a song specifically for Swift, though the pop superstar has yet to hear it.

Furtado, 45, enlisted the talents of Australian EDM star Dom Dolla, 32, to produce the track. Interestingly, Dolla shares a connection with Swift through his friendship with NFL star Travis Kelce, who is also Swift’s boyfriend. This connection has sparked hope that the collaboration might come to fruition soon.

Speaking to ‘Extra,’ Furtado expressed her enthusiasm for the potential project: “I have a song for Taylor. Dom is friends with Travis, so let’s get it poppin’! We want Taylor on it!”

The collaboration buzz was further fueled by a memorable moment at the 2023 MTV VMA Awards, where Furtado presented Swift with the Song of the Year prize for “Anti-Hero.” The encounter left Furtado feeling both honored and surreal, as she admitted to being a fan of Swift’s music.

Reflecting on her journey and the unique connection with Swift, Furtado said, “It’s kind of surreal for me. I take these long breaks away from music and sometimes I feel like a music librarian trapped in a pop star’s body. So every time I come back out from the woods, I’m like ‘I’m back from the woods! I’m back from my cave!’”

The prospect of a collaboration between Taylor Swift and Nelly Furtado has generated significant excitement among fans and music critics alike. Both artists have a history of producing chart-topping hits, and a joint project could result in a monumental addition to their discographies.
