Three men were arrested by police in Githika, Kiambu County, on Tuesday, after being found in possession of a combat uniform, marijuana, an imitation firearm, and several other illegal items. The men, identified as Rogers Okidos (26), Godfrey Ndiba (25), and William Rohara (25), were apprehended following a raid at a house in Githangi village, an area known for its illicit drug activities.
The arrest was a result of a tip-off from local residents, which led to the intervention of officers from the Githika Police Station. According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the village of Githangi has been notorious for being a hub where young men and women engage in the packaging and selling of marijuana, commonly known as bhang.
Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers conducted a thorough search of the property, where they seized a range of items believed to be linked to illegal activities. Among the items confiscated were an Administration Police smoke jacket, which is typically worn by law enforcement personnel, and an imitation firearm that could potentially be used for criminal activities or intimidation. In addition, the officers found 29 rolls of bhang, a rolling pad, and Rizla papers, which are commonly used for rolling marijuana.
The DCI stated that the confiscation of these items has helped disrupt a network involved in the illegal trade of drugs and the possession of dangerous weapons. The authorities are now conducting further investigations to determine the full extent of the activities of the three suspects and to uncover any possible connections to a larger criminal syndicate.
The arrest highlights the ongoing efforts by local police to curb drug-related crimes and maintain law and order in Kiambu County. Authorities have emphasized the importance of public cooperation in combating crime, with residents being encouraged to report suspicious activities that could lead to the identification and dismantling of illegal operations.
While the three suspects remain in custody, the police are expected to pursue additional leads and investigate the role of the seized items in the broader context of criminal activity in the area. As the investigation unfolds, the authorities continue to urge community members to stay vigilant and assist in efforts to reduce crime in their neighborhoods.
This arrest marks yet another success in the local police’s ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking and related crimes in Kiambu County.
