Alma Mutheu, a popular TikTok content creator, has been in the public eye for her candid personality and relatable content. At 25, Alma made a bold decision to pause her university studies in English and Literature to focus on content creation. Reflecting on this choice, she admits that while it was a significant shift, it was one she does not regret. “I found studies a bit hectic and wanted to concentrate on content creation. I don’t regret the move because it’s brought me to where I am today,” she shared. Her decision has paid off, as Alma has turned her online presence into a lucrative career, earning millions in the process. “I can always go back to school later,” she said, emphasizing that her success in the digital space has made it hard to step away from the opportunities it offers.
Alma has been in a two-year relationship with fellow content creator Gift Musiq. However, their relationship has been put under the spotlight recently due to financial tensions. Gift expressed his disappointment over not being treated on his birthday, and Alma defended her actions, stating that she couldn’t always afford gifts. “It’s not every day that you have money. Besides, I’ve always gifted him before, so I don’t see why it’s a big deal,” she remarked.
However, Alma revealed that the real strain in their relationship comes from the financial imbalance. “In a household, a man is the leader,” she said, explaining that she is tired of being the one who constantly shoulders the financial burden. While she understands that a man may not always be able to provide, Alma finds it unfair that after two years of living together, she is still paying for most things, including rent and fuel for their car.
Alma shared that when they first started dating, Gift had a job, and she was already established as an influencer. She willingly supported both of them, believing that “love always wins.” Over time, however, Alma began to notice the growing imbalance. “Many people told me to leave Gift, saying he wasn’t good enough for me. But I was in love and decided to give him time to sort out his hustle,” she explained. Despite their strong connection, Alma admitted that the financial strain has led to arguments, and she feels Gift has become too comfortable.
In an unexpected turn, Alma also opened up about her readiness for motherhood. “I wouldn’t mind having a child at this age. If a baby comes, I’m ready, which is why I’m not on any family planning.” This declaration reflects her evolving views on life and family as she navigates both her career and personal relationships. Alma’s story sheds light on the challenges faced by young couples, especially when balancing love, career, and financial responsibilities.
