Trade CS Rebecca Miano Opens 2024 Export Processing Zones (EPZ) Investors Forum in Machakos County
Trade Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano inaugurated the 2024 Export Processing Zones (EPZ) Investors Forum in Machakos County today. The event, which attracted local and international investors, government officials, and industry stakeholders, aims to boost investment in Kenya’s EPZs and promote economic growth.
In her opening remarks, CS Miano emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a favorable business environment and enhancing the competitiveness of Kenya’s export sector. She highlighted the strategic importance of EPZs in driving industrialization, creating jobs, and increasing exports.
“EPZs are a cornerstone of our economic strategy. By providing incentives and world-class infrastructure, we aim to attract more investors and position Kenya as a leading hub for manufacturing and export,” Miano stated.
The forum includes presentations on investment opportunities, panel discussions on industry trends, and networking sessions to facilitate partnerships. Investors expressed optimism about the potential for growth and collaboration in the EPZs, particularly in sectors such as textiles, agro-processing, and electronics.
Governor Wavinya Ndeti of Machakos County also addressed the forum, welcoming investors and reaffirming the county’s support for initiatives that drive economic development and improve livelihoods for residents.
The 2024 EPZ Investors Forum is expected to result in new investments and partnerships, contributing to Kenya’s economic objectives and reinforcing its position as a key player in the regional and global markets.
