A tragic incident unfolded in Imara Daima on the evening of Wednesday, June 12, as a young pupil returning from school met a tragic end in a road accident. The pupil, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, was attempting to cross a busy road when she was fatally injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the tragedy struck when the schoolgirl’s bag got caught on one of the sideway levers of a heavy truck. This unfortunate snag pulled her into the underside of the moving vehicle. The collision caused her to sustain severe injuries on the spot.
The incident drew immediate attention, with a crowd rapidly forming around the accident scene. Police officers arrived promptly to control the gathering and manage the situation. Despite the quick response, the severity of the injuries demanded urgent medical attention.
The critically injured pupil was first rushed to Scion Hospital. However, due to the extent of her injuries, she could not receive the necessary medical assistance there. Subsequently, she was transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she was sadly confirmed dead.
