Air France has taken a bold leap forward in luxury air travel with the unveiling of its new first-class cabin, La Première, offering an elevated experience for discerning travelers seeking comfort, privacy, and elegance at 30,000 feet. The revamped first-class suites will debut this spring on select Boeing 777-300ER aircraft operating between Paris and New York, a route renowned for catering to a high volume of premium passengers. This development marks a significant upgrade from the airline’s current La Première product, which already serves major U.S. destinations including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington Dulles, and Miami.
The newly designed cabin features four individual suites, each providing nearly 38 square feet of personal space—a 25% increase compared to the previous configuration. This generous expansion positions Air France’s La Première as one of the most spacious first-class offerings in the sky. Each suite is a private haven, designed with both functionality and luxury in mind, blending fine materials and cutting-edge technology to create an atmosphere of refined tranquility.
At the heart of each suite is a plush, fully adjustable seat that can be customized for various positions, allowing travelers to relax, dine, or work in maximum comfort. Adjacent to the seat, a chaise longue offers a versatile seating option, ideal for leisurely reading or enjoying in-flight entertainment. The chaise longue converts into a bed measuring nearly 6.5 feet in length, ensuring a restful sleep experience. Passengers can enjoy the added benefit of five windows aligning with each perimeter suite, an innovative design element that Air France highlights as unique within the airline industry. This feature allows for ample natural light and panoramic views, enhancing the sense of spaciousness and exclusivity.
For those traveling together, the two center suites offer flexibility through an electric sliding partition. With the press of a button, the divider can be opened or closed, allowing for a shared or private experience as desired. Adding to the privacy, all suites are enclosed by floor-to-ceiling curtains, offering passengers a cocoon-like environment throughout their journey. Complementing the luxurious seating and design, each suite is equipped with a 32-inch seatback entertainment screen, providing access to a wide selection of films, music, and interactive content, further enhancing the in-flight experience.
Benjamin Smith, CEO of Air France-KLM, emphasized the strategic importance of this new offering, stating that the introduction of the enhanced La Première suite is a critical move in the airline’s mission to attract and retain premium travelers. He noted that Air France remains committed to investing in state-of-the-art products that elevate the customer journey, aligning the airline with the highest standards in global aviation.
Following the Paris–New York launch, the new La Première suites will be gradually introduced on other key long-haul routes, including flights to Los Angeles, Singapore, and Tokyo Haneda during the summer months. This rollout reflects Air France’s ambition to reinforce its reputation as a leading carrier in luxury air travel and to offer its most elite passengers an experience that combines privacy, elegance, and world-class service.
