The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) has launched a groundbreaking initiative, ASTA Corporate, aimed at enhancing support for travel management companies (TMCs). This new program builds upon ASTA’s existing Corporate Advisory Council, providing dedicated resources, research, and advocacy efforts to further strengthen the role of corporate travel agencies in the industry.
ASTA has long been committed to addressing the evolving needs of the corporate travel sector. While the Corporate Advisory Council has been an essential platform for collaboration and feedback, ASTA Corporate is designed to take industry engagement to the next level.
One of the key focuses of ASTA Corporate is data-driven research that evaluates the true value of managed travel programs. This initiative will provide corporate agencies with critical insights to help optimize travel spending and improve operational efficiency. By leveraging comprehensive industry data, ASTA aims to reinforce the indispensable role of TMCs in corporate travel planning.ASTA has long been committed to addressing the evolving needs of the corporate travel sector. To further enhance its impact, ASTA Corporate has partnered with Temoji, a well-known consulting and marketing firm founded by Paul Tilstone. With vast experience in global business travel, Tilstone brings expertise in AI, air distribution, and sustainability—three major areas influencing corporate travel today. His guidance will be instrumental in helping ASTA Corporate navigate technological advancements and evolving industry dynamics.
Beyond research and industry support, ASTA Corporate is set to play a significant role in policy discussions affecting corporate travel. The initiative’s first major event will take place on October 9 at the Hay-Adams Hotel in Washington, D.C. This gathering will provide a unique platform for TMCs, industry stakeholders, and government officials to discuss key challenges and policy concerns within corporate travel. Sponsored by ASTA’s Corporate Advisory Council, this event reflects ASTA’s commitment to amplifying the voice of corporate travel professionals at the highest levels of government.
Leading this initiative is Mark Meader, who has been promoted to Executive Vice President of ASTA Corporate. Meader previously served as Senior Vice President of Industry Affairs and Education at ASTA. Under his leadership, ASTA Corporate will focus on addressing the unprecedented challenges faced by corporate travel agencies, including:
- Technological disruptions, such as AI-driven booking and expense management tools.
- Changing client expectations, as corporate travelers demand more flexible and sustainable travel options.
- Industry evolution, including shifts in airline distribution models and supplier relationships.
ASTA CEO Zane Kerby emphasized that ASTA Corporate is not just an initiative, but a movement. It aims to redefine the role of corporate travel agencies and enhance their influence on a global scale. As the industry continues to evolve, ASTA Corporate will ensure that TMCs remain at the forefront of innovation, policy advocacy, and industry best practices.
With its dedicated research, strategic partnerships, and advocacy efforts, ASTA Corporate is poised to become a game-changer for the corporate travel sector.
