US Tourist Electrocuted in Mexican Hot Tub Days Before College Graduation, Remembered for His ‘Heart of Gold’

Jorge Guillen, an American tourist from El Paso, Texas, tragically died after being electrocuted while relaxing in a hot tub with his wife at the Sonoran Sea Resort in Puerto Penasco, Mexico. Guillen, who was set to graduate from college on Friday, is remembered fondly for his “heart of gold.” Local authorities reported that his wife, Lizette Zambrano, 35, sustained life-threatening injuries and was urgently transported to a hospital in the US. The incident has cast a pall over what was meant to be a celebratory week for Guillen and his family.
