Tanzanian songstress Zuchu has sparked conversations after addressing claims of pressuring her boyfriend, Diamond Platnumz, to marry her. Speaking on Wasafi FM, the Sukari hitmaker clarified her stance on their relationship and the importance of setting a positive example for her family and fans.
Zuchu dismissed the narrative of “forcing” Diamond into marriage but openly admitted her desire to solidify their union. “There is no profit in sex before marriage, and I cannot laugh about it,” she said, emphasizing her role as a public figure and family role model. “I love my man, and if it were up to me, I’d have made things official long ago. As it stands, there’s no real difference between us and a married couple. But for the sake of the people around me my siblings and those who look up to me it’s important to do things the right way.”
Her comments highlighted her yearning for a more formal relationship while addressing societal expectations. Zuchu humorously proposed a lighthearted strategy to nudge Diamond toward marriage, suggesting a public campaign with T-shirts reading, “Boss, marry her” or “Boss, marry someone’s daughter.” She quipped, “We’re getting old, and he needs to see the message when he passes by the office.”
Beyond her relationship aspirations, Zuchu has embraced her maternal instincts, taking an active role in Diamond’s family. She revealed her satisfaction with motherhood, explaining that she already considers herself a mother to Diamond’s children from previous relationships with Zari Hassan and Tanasha Donna.
“I have kids with Naseeb, and his kids are mine. Giving birth isn’t the only way to become a mother. Raising others or being an aunt also makes you a mum. For now, I feel blessed to nurture my partner’s kids,” she shared.
